PanoramIX: Netscape plug-in
The Netscape plug-in for PanoramIX may be installed using the
installation package provided here.
This may be needed for older versions of Netscape Navigator,
including versions 4.0 and 4.1.
Versions 4.2 and later of Netscape browsers should be able to download
the PanoramIX plug-in automatically using the SmartUpdate feature.

Download,
the installation program for PanoramIX for Windows 95/98/ME and NT/2000(x86)
(ibmpix.exe, 924 KB, Jan. 29, 1998).
Note the folder where this file is saved when it is downloaded.
This should be a "temp" directory.

Use Windows Explorer to select the folder used to save the
PanoramIX installation program (ibmpix.exe) downloaded in the
previous step.

Double-click on the icon for ibmpix.exe to start the installation.
- After the installation is completed, make sure the files
nppix32.dll and pix32.dll get put into the proper plugins folder(s).
Sometimes Netscape will have several Program and plugin directories,
especially if you have ever upgraded from an earlier version of
Netscape.
The Netscape plug-in can also be used with Microsoft Internet
Explorer, but you may need to copy the files to the MSIE plugins
directory yourself.

Re-start Netscape Navigator and go back to the web page that uses the
PanoramIX plug-in.
If you have already installed an older version of PanoramIX, delete or
(preferably) uninstall it before installing a new version.
PC system requirements:
- Netscape Navigator version 4.0 or later,
or Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.0 or later.
- Operating systems: Windows 95/98/ME and Windows NT/2000 (x86).
- CPU: A 100 Mhz or faster Pentium (Intel Corp.) CPU or the
equivalent is recommended.
Any Pentium can be used for most panoramas, but performance my be
sluggish, especially for large windows.
- RAM: 16 MB or more is recommended.
- Display supporting at least 256 colors. PanoramIX does not work
with monochrome or 16-color video display modes.
Some older PCs, especially older laptops, do not support 256 colors.
